Clorox "Touching"
Transparently inspired by The Beatles, ELO and Harry Nilssen, I wrote this song for US bleach titans Clorox.
It was a chirpy happy TV tune that, in the pre-Shazam era, drove tens of thousands of people to obscure ad music chatrooms to Find Out Who Made This Song. As a result I became quite the hit in the admittedly niche cleaning products music crowd.
I then extended it into a full length called “My Little Girl”, about my first daughter who was nearly 2 at the time. She used to listen to it on the way daycare every day. Now she’s 12… Here’s the full length My Little Girl
Fun fact : this song was used by Professor Robert Hilliard as an example of excellence in advertising writing in the 11th edition of his textbook “Writing for Television, Radio and New Media”, at a bizarrely perfect moment that straight got my me Green Card.
